Free Meals For School Aged Children – Summer 2023

USDA Summer Food Service Program, anyone aged 18 and under is eligible to receive free and healthy meals.

Devine ISD

Families can visit Devine Intermediate School at 900 Atkins Ave., Devine, TX 78016 for free meals in June. Breakfast is served 7:25 to 8:30 a.m., while lunch runs from noon to 1:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday.

Southwest ISD

Breakfast and lunch will be served fresh at eight of Southwest ISD’s schools. Dates and times vary by campus, with some operating on Fridays, others taking breaks for federal holidays, and some campuses serving breakfast as early as 6:40 a.m.

Southside ISD

Now through July 6, all children can enjoy free breakfast and lunch meals at two of Southside ISD’s campuses, Menchaca Early Childhood Center (16180 US-281 S., San Antonio, TX 78221) and Southside High School (19190 US-281 S., San Antonio, TX 78221). Meals will be served Monday through Thursday, with breakfast from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 10:30 to 11 a.m., and are available to non-district students.

South San Antonio ISD

Campuses throughout South San ISD are already coming through with free breakfast and lunch meals Mondays through Thursdays this summer. Most participating campuses will serve these meals in June only, while the cafeterias at Madla and Price elementary schools will continue until July 27. Enjoy breakfast from 7:15 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Somerset ISD

Students in and near the Somerset community can swing by Barrera Veterans Elementary School (4135 Smith Road, Von Ormy, TX 78073) or Somerset High School (7650 S. Loop 1604 W., Somerset, TX 78069) for free meals Monday through Friday now through July 3. Breakfast is served 7:45 to 9:30 a.m. while lunch is available 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

San Antonio ISD

SAISD is making sure local children are fed throughout the summer break, with breakfast and lunch meals already being distributed. Some campuses will cease service at the end of June, while others will continue through the beginning of August. Breakfast is available from 7:30 to 9 a.m. across campuses though lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at all sites. Dates vary by location, though details can be confirmed here or by calling 210-554-2290.

East Central ISD

Four East Central campuses — CAST Lead, Oak Crest Elementary, Sinclair Elementary, and Highland Forest Elementary — will serve lunch Monday through Thursday to anyone 18 and under this summer. Breakfast is up for grabs from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at CAST Lead and Oak Crest Elementary School. Sinclair and Highland Forest elementary schools will only serve lunch. Seguin ISD

Free breakfast and lunch is available to anyone 18 and under through July 27 at six district locations. Adults are also able to purchase meals at $2.55 for breakfast and $4.50 for lunch. Dishes include enchilada casserole, pizza, cheeseburgers, and other kid-friendly favorites. Kids who like to sleep in can swing by Jim Barnes Middle School at 1539 Joe Carrillo St., Seguin, TX 78155 for lunch from 3 to 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Northside ISD

Northside ISD’s Seamless Summer Option (SSO) meal program will serve free breakfast and lunch meals at 35 campuses across the district. Breakast is served as early as 7:15 a.m. at numerous sites and lunch wraps up at 12:30 p.m. at all campuses. Meals must be eaten at the campuses, which will be closed in honor of Juneteenth and Independence Day. Frequently asked questions and other notable details are available online.

North East ISD

Children aged 18 and younger can secure a free meal at one of 22 distribution sites across the district, available for both breakfast and lunch. Breakfast times range from 7 to 10:30 a.m. while lunch can be enjoyed between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. across various locations. Natalia ISD

June comes with free breakfast and lunch for children in Natalia, though adults can purchase meals for $2.75 and $4.50, respectively. Menu selections include sausage biscuits, breakfast sandwiches, corn dogs, and pizza sticks. Breakfast is served 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Friday. Interested families can visit Natalia Junior High School at 401 8th St., Natalia, TX 78059.

Medina Valley ISD

Breakfast is served from 7:30 to 9:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at three Medina Valley ISD campuses this summer, including Medina Valley High School, LaCoste Elementary School, and Luckey Ranch Elementary School. Some campuses will offer services on Fridays for part of the summer while no meals will be served on July 3 and 4 in observance of Independence Day. Additional details reveal everything Castroville residents and visitors need to know.

Hondo ISD

Healthy meals are up for grabs for Hondo children as free food is available at Woolls Intermediate School, located at 2802 Ave. Q, Hondo, TX 78861, in June. Children can pick up their lunch between 11 a.m. and noon Mondays through Thursdays.

Edgewood ISD

Children on the city’s Westside can conveniently grab breakfast and lunch at one of Edgewood ISD’s 11 distribution sites, which includes Kennedy High School and Memorial High School. Some campuses will serve meals through July 21, though some will only operate in June. Lunch is served from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at all sites, though breakfast times vary by location. IDEA Public Schools

Now through July 21, anyone 18 and under can secure free breakfast and lunch meals on weekdays at any of IDEA Public School’s 15 campuses in San Antonio. Breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Meals will not be served from July 3-7.

Harlandale ISD

Fourteen Harlandale ISD campuses, including all three of the district’s high schools, will distribute free meals to children this summer. Meals will be available for breakfast and lunch Monday through Thursday, though some campuses will only offer free food through the end of June. Jourdanton ISD

Children in Jourdanton can score free meals at the district’s elementary school Monday through Thursday in June. Meals will be served for 30 minutes with breakfast at 7:30 a.m. and lunch at noon daily. Jourdanton Elementary School is located at 200 Zanderson Ave., Jourdanton, TX 78026.

Judson ISD

Converse residents are well-covered with Judson ISD’s summer meal program. Five middle schools, as well as Veterans Memorial, Judson, and Wagner high schools, are now serving meals for breakfast and lunch Monday through Thursday until the end of the month. Three elementary campuses will serve meals daily on weekdays through the end of July. Services will not be available on Juneteenth or July 4, though detailed information can be found here.

Pleasanton ISD

All four Pleasanton schools are doing their part to keep local children well-fed with breakfast from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. and lunch from 11 a.m. to noon served Monday through Thursday. The addresses of the campuses can be found below:

Lytle ISD

Children from near and far will have a hot meal at two of Lytle ISD’s campuses, which are serving breakfast and lunch weekdays through June 30. Show up at 7:30 a.m. for breakfast and at noon for lunch. Meals can be enjoyed at Lytle High School, found at 18975 W. Farm to Market 2790 S., Lytle, TX 78052, or Lytle Elementary School at 11550 Laredo St., Lytle, TX 78052.
